Chad HuntonChad Hunton has been a dedicated member of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office for 26 years. With his wife Jennifer, they’ve raised a family of five children and one grandchild. Protecting and serving his home community is more than a job to him; it's a special calling.

After learning about honor and teamwork in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Chad joined the Sheriff's Office. He quickly showed he was a natural leader. He started as a Sergeant in the Uniform Patrol Division, then became a Lieutenant and the Director of Training. Chad made sure new deputies were ready for the job and introduced smart ways to keep the community safe.

In 2008, under Sheriff Bruce Harris, Chad was promoted to Captain and led the Warrants/Civil Division, improving how they handled legal documents and catching criminals. As Jail Administrator, a job he began in 2010 under Sheriff Gary Gulledge, Chad worked tirelessly to improve the jail, making it a safer and better-run facility. He dealt with big changes when mental health facilities closed, adding mental health services to help those in custody.

By 2014, Chad became the Chief Administrator and SWAT Commander. During this time he worked to ensure deputies had life-saving equipment like helmets and vests. He played a big part in planning and building a new, modern facility for the Sheriff’s Office, which finished in 2020.

Sheriff Gulledge believed and trusted in Chad so much that he made him Chief Deputy in 2017. Together, they've worked to get better pay for staff, new technology to fight crime, and lifesaving kits to treat overdoses.

Chad believes in looking after others first, and he's running for Sheriff to continue making Paulding County a safe place for families. To Chad, this has not merely been a job - it’s been his calling and blessing to serve. On May 21st, remember to vote for Chad Hunton for Paulding Sheriff. He's ready to lead with experience and heart.
