The Paulding County Board of Education has tentatively proposed a 2024 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.2 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Paulding County Board of Education, 3236 Atlanta Highway, Dallas, GA 30132 on: June 4, 2024, at 8:30 AM, June 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM and June 11, 2024, at 8:00 AM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 17.675 mills, an increase of 0.551 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 17.124 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $371,000 is approximately $80.67 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $371,000 is approximately $81.77.
Tentatively, the M&O millage rate (maintenance and operations) will remain at 17.675 for 2024 and the Bond millage rate will remain at 0.000 for 2024. Bond principal and interest is paid through E-SPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax).
The Paulding County Board of Education is scheduled to adopt the 2024 millage rate on June 11, 2024, at 8:30 AM.
