Paulding County’s Board of Commissioners last week awarded an Airport Hangar renovation contract to Striker Contracting, LLC, and also approved a separate agenda item to submit a request to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to release approximately 2.964 acres from federal obligations to be the site of the new Aviation Academy.

This month the Dallas Concert Series started an hour earlier to accommodate additional musical guests including Community Church of South Paulding, The Will Sam Band, and West Ridge Church. A new record number of attendees filled the available seating area to enjoy the presentation. As scheduled Crowder took the stage at approximately 8 o'clock to greet over 2200 audience members and fans.
City of Dallas Ga. has been selected by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) to receive one of the Employee Health & Wellbeing Incentive Grants awarded statewide to promote worksite programs designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of city employees and family members.
DAHLGREN, Va. – Fire Controlman Aegis 1st Class Shane Freeman, a 2011 graduate of Hiram High School and native of Powder Springs, Ga., received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (NAM) during an awards ceremony at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC) on Aug. 23.
The Paulding County Rotary Club welcomed Deidre Holden Supervisor of Elections & Voter Registration for Paulding County. Mrs. Holden gave a thorough explanation of the current advancements taking place to accommodate voters here in Paulding County. Mrs. Holden outlined proposed precinct changes for 2019 to accommodate the substantial growth of the county's voting population. Complaints of long lines and waiting periods in our voting process have resulted in the proposed expansion from our 12 current polling locations to a newly recommended 17 locations.
North Paulding High School Wolfpack and Head Coach Jim Bob Bryant were presented the revolving “Battle” trophy on August 23 rd with a true rivalry battle. This game did not disappoint with PCHS leading 17-14 going into halftime. The Wolfpack team came on strong in the second half with big plays to allow them to pull ahead and secure the “w”! North Paulding ended winning the “Battle” with the final score being 56-24.
Paulding County Fire/Rescue, the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are assisting the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation. Once the scene was processed, the victim’s remains were recovered and subsequently transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.
The male driver has been extremely cooperative and admitted to seeing the alleged victim walking her dog down the road. The male driver stated that this was not his usual route and that he ordinarily works in Douglas County. He also indicated that he was likely on the phone when he passed the juvenile because he was unfamiliar with the area.
