East Paulding High School, North Paulding High School, and South Paulding High School DECA Advisors and Officers traveled to Washington, DC for The Ultimate Power Trip. There, the students had the opportunity to network with over 1600 other DECA members from across the country.
On November 14, 2019, a complainant contacted authorities at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office with allegations that Sorrells had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor. Authorities immediately contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and asked them to launch an investigation into the incident. At that point, Sorrells was placed on paid administrative leave and removed from all of his official duties as a Detective.
U.S. Representative Tom Graves (R-GA-14) joined presenters from Google and local school officials last week at McClure Middle School for an event aimed at raising awareness among students on how to stay safe on the internet.
Brian Travis Cowart (W/M, 34 YOA) of Cartersville, Georgia was arrested by Detectives from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Investigations Division as a result of an elaborate attempt to have sex with an eight-year-old girl.
Dallas, GA3⁄4 Kennesaw State University’s TRIO Programs are hosting an ACT Test Prep Boot Camp that aims to not only prepare high school students for the big test that will determine their college entrance, but they are also working to prepare students for life in the community. The Boot Camp is a 10-week commitment that takes place every Saturday, and students that give up their weekends gain confidence for their ACT Test and learn soft skills that will benefit them in their future workplaces, such as timeliness, work ethic, and accountability.

As a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force would like to announce the arrest of two Paulding County residents for Heroin and Marijuana trafficking. The Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force is comprised of Deputies and Officers from multiple agencies in Haralson and Paulding County which is overseen by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Captain Robert Davis, of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, was awarded the Paulding County Board of Commissioners Public Safety Award. Captain Davis received this award for his dedicated service, innovative investigative techniques, and his diligence in keeping the Criminal Investigations Division in touch with current technology.
The Dallas Police Department would like to announce the retirement of Assistant Chief Jim Boshell. Jim has served the citizens of Dallas for over twenty-two years and will be greatly missed.
