In the Appalachian Foothills, small town America is waiting to be explored. Living in the region provides the opportunity to see what visitors only get to see on their visit through the area. Nestled in our backyard, we have everything needed for a leisurely day. Interstate 20 meanders through Haralson County. Tallapoosa welcomes travelers once they enter the state from Alabama. Haralson could claim to be the GATEWAY into northwest Georgia. If you haven't been down the Martha Berry Highway, Route 27 connects small towns that are off the beaten path through the county. Some historic districts may have a few shops, and it can be fun to spend some time adding it to your itinerary.Powell800

Local Flavor:
Tallapoosa has one of the area's favorite stops for local flavor at the K & M Coffee Cafe. Around the small town, there are several shops to find that special treasure. With a variety of local flavor in the area, taste buds will keep you coming back for a second helping.

Concerts:
In case you did not know, Bremen's name for being a Music City in the southeast has brought tourists and big name acts. The Mill Town Music Hall offers are throughout the year. Check out their schedule and get your ticket early.

Shopping & Browsing
In these small towns, there is always something new, from local boutiques, antiques, art, thrifts, and more. You will want to explore Buchanan, Tallapoosa, and Bremen. You will find more treasures in the Tallapoosa downtown district. If you like architecture, old historic buildings, and oddities off the beaten path, you may want to bring your camera for your scrapbook. There are some good deals along the way.

Outdoor Fun
There is an opportunity to take a bike ride along city roads through Haralson County. There are three main routes. Rent a canoe and float along the Dub Denmon Canoe Trail, or simply drive along the scenic route through the county.

Events
The best times to see what the region is all about will be to come during special events. Bremen's Town Festival will be during the month of October. Throughout the year, these small town communities offer fun for the whole family, from classic car shows, community yard sales, town festivals, and more. All the things that take place around the county will be worth adding to your calendar.
