Ms. Senior Georgia Pageant

senior 600

Bernadine Cantrell was crowned as Ms. Senior Georgia on August 21st.  She is 79 years old, has 4 children, 22 grandchildren and 13 great grand children.  The Cantrells will celebrate 60 years of marriage on February 2nd. Her husband Wes lived in Hiram, graduated in 1953 from Hiram High School. His Dad was the pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, and both parents were schoolteachers in the area.
Bernadine is a Bible teacher (has taught in Hiram and Dallas), a speaker, a conference teacher.  She teaches four Bible classes a week and disciples younger women.  She is traveling around Georgia to promote the benefits of aging, encouraging those in their "winter season" of life and attempting to build bridges between the generations. Her talent for the pageant was a dramatic monologue, which she continues to use as she entertains with other women in retirement centers, churches and civic groups.  She would welcome any invitation to appear, entertain, or speak across Georgia.
The objectives for the Ms. Senior GA are:

  • Serving as a role model
  • To show that Seniors are a vital part of today’s society
  • Promote a positive image of aging.
