Solar Eclipse at the Hiram Public Library
Patrons gathered at the Hiram Public Library on August 21st to join the nation in viewing the spectacular, historic solar eclipse. Many members of the community were given the chance to safely view the eclipse with the help of the Paulding public libraries. In the weeks leading up to the event, Paulding libraries gave away 1,000 NASA-approved solar eclipse glasses for patrons to experience the eclipse with their families and neighbors. Hiram’s librarians assisted locals by guiding them to the best resources and tools for safe viewing, by providing interactive crafts and educational activities, and finally by enjoying the eclipse alongside their patrons. It was special not only to see this unique event in nature but also to witness the community being brought together by a mutual pursuit of wonder--all at the public library.
