2017 International Literacy Day, International Literacy Week Proclamation

On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, the Mayor of Hiram, Teresa Philyaw, presented a proclamation declaring the week of September 4 through 8, International Literacy Week to the students in the Paulding Adult Education Program. September 8, 2017, is International Literacy Day worldwide, so it was appropriate that the mayor be surrounded by American and foreign born students as well as the staff and Director of the program, Ms. Francia Browne.
The Paulding Adult Education Program recently moved to a new site from the old courthouse in Dallas. The new location is at the Dianne Wright Innovation Center (the old P.B. Ritch Elementary school) at 140 Bethel Church Road, Hiram, with a new phone number, 678-460- 1587. The FREE CLASSES are for students wishing to improve their basic skills, or to learn English, or to earn their GED diploma. The program will be accepting students for the winter quarter starting in January beginning the week of October 10. Please call if more information is needed about the program.2017 Inter Literacy Day
