Buzzworthy News about Pennies for Paulding from Hiram Elementary School

Paulding Christmas, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides new toys at Christmas time for approximately 1900 underprivileged children ages infant through 12 years in Paulding County. "Pennies for Paulding" is the biggest fundraising drive of the year that occurs over a ten day period prior to Thanksgiving. It takes the effort of the entire school system to make this project a success. Often these "toys" are the only bright spot in a child's life during the holiday season. This project provides students and staff members an opportunity to donate money to Paulding Christmas, Inc. in order to help our families in need.
This year our school district raised $40,149 for the campaign. Hiram Elementary raised $1527 for this worthy cause. The winning class in each grade level received an ice cream party and the overall school winner (Ms. Richey's 3rd grade class) received a pizza party. Students had the opportunity to witness the leading homeroom teacher in each grade level get slimmed!
