Three local high school students have been selected to represent Carroll Electric Membership Cooperative on a once-in- a-lifetime trip to Washington, D.C. as part of the Washington Youth Tour, an all-expenses paid leadership experience.

Georgia Highlands College continues to grow with a consistent swell in enrollment. Spring enrollment is up 3.9 percent. This increase follows a 4.6 percent increase last fall, a 9.9 percent increase last summer and a 6.3 percent increase last spring.

Recently, Eight students from the North Paulding Fly Fishing and Coldwater Conservation Club braved the wind and rain to fly fish for trout in the Toccoa River near the mountain town of Blue Ridge.
The administration of Hiram High School was alerted about a student who was possibly looking into a girl’s restroom through “peep holes” in the ceiling tiles. Another student observed and took a photograph of the 15 year old male suspect climbing down from the ceiling area back into the boy’s bathroom.
