All Hail Hiram! Region Champions

The Hiram Hornets staked their claim to the throne of Region 7 (5A) in an upset of #4 ranked Villa Rica on Friday night in an exciting game played at Paulding County High School. The Hornets defeated the Wildcats 48-43 and in so doing claimed a #1 seed in the State tournament. The Hornets will now host Cedar Shoals from region 8 on Friday night in the first round. Congratulations to Coach Darius Hodge and the Hornets and good luck in the tournament.

GAME CHANGER - Hiram's Raphael Rogers brought down the thunder with this momentum changing dunk in the 4th quarter. Rogers tallied 15 points in the victory.Hiram's Nate Presnell slams one home against Villa Rica, Presnell is a force to be reckoned with in the paint and is only a junior standing at 6' 9" he will lead the Hornets into the State tournament.Hiram's Devon Wilkerson dishes a pass during the championship game. Wilkerson filled in admirably for the Hornets as Darious Johnson was injured in the first half. The Hornet's showed much fortitude in the victory with Johnson out and top scorer Presnell fouling out with over 3 minutes to go in the game.All smiles and hoisting the trophy are the Hiram Hornets after their upset over Villa Rica.
