Patriots Softball Underway
The Paulding County Patriots softball season got underway last week as the Patriots opened up by splitting a pair of games against McEachern and South Paulding. The Patriots are a relatively young team this season as they only have one senior on their roster. The Patriots will have a tough task ahead of them this week as they play 4 games in a row and open up region play with games at Rome, hosting Kell, then traveling to Hiram. They will also host Mt. Zion in a non-region affair. Good luck to the Patriots and new head coach Maisie Hynninen as they pursue a playoff spot in the highly competitive Region 7(5A).

Patriot sophomore Savannah Hilderbrand toed the rubber against McEachern going the distance in the 11-3 victory.
Junior Patriot Maddie Wagar creates havoc on the basepaths with her speed. Wagar scored 3 runs against the Indians.
South Paulding freshman Katelyn Munoz shut down the Patriots going 5 solid innings in the 8-0 victory.
Patriot junior Madi Shaw rips a base hit against the Spartans.
Spartan catcher Emma Wellborn worked a good game behind the plate for the Spartans. Despite losing several good players to graduation the Spartans should be a contender for the region crown.
