Patriots Edged By Hornets

The Paulding County Patriots suffered a stinging loss at the hands of the Hiram Hornets on Friday at Dave Harden stadium in Dallas by a score of 21-17. Although the Patriots lost it was plain to see that the Patriots are on the right track and improving each game. The Hornets scored a late touchdown to take the victory in both teams first region game. Hiram was a heavy favorite coming into the matchup and the Patriots gave them all they could handle playing much-improved defense and an offense that was able to move the chains and an improved passing game. The Hornets are off this week and resume action next against Woodland. The Patriots will travel to Cartersville this week to play the same Woodland squad.

IMGP4073Hiram's Marcuis Fulks provided the offense scoring on runs of 73, 28, and 2 yards. IMGP4066Patriot Jamal McIver wraps up Hornet QB Nate Presnell for the sack. IMGP4076Linebacker Trev Carr pursues the Patriots Tony Lauzurica in the hard-fought 21-17 victory for Hiram.
