The Paulding County Lady Patriots improved their record to 9-0 for the season in girls soccer.East Paulding was the latest victim to fall by the wayside in a very competitive match that saw a very physical presence by both squads. When the dust settled the Patriots prevailed 2-0 despite a very game effort by the Lady Raiders.
The Patriots capitalized on their speed and took advantage of their opportunities when they revealed themselves. Gabby Stewart broke the scoreless deadlock on a break away goal at the 17 minute mark of the first half. Stewart also got the assist on the other goal scored by Captain Michayla Barnes at the 4 minute mark of the second half who dashed in from the left flank and one timed the perfect cross from the right flank from Stewart into the back of the net.
To their credit the Lady Raiders never gave up and applied the most pressure the rest of the game getting 7 shots on goal and holding PC to 5 but were unable to net their opportunities. East Paulding fell to 2-4 with the loss despite their valiant efforts.
