This April 4, 2016 marks the 39th anniversary of the worst air disaster in Georgia history. 72 people died that day including 9 local Paulding County residents when a Southern Airways DC-9, Flight 242 crashed in the Paulding County community of New Hope.
The Paulding County Reading Bowl Competition was held Saturday, January 30th at East Paulding High School. The competeing schools included Allgood, New Georgia, Panter, Poole, and Union Elementary Schools.
Chattahoochee Tech scholarship provided by the Paulding County Rotary Club. The scholarship is offered to residents of Paulding County and or full-time students attending the Paulding County campus. The Chattahoochee Tech scholarship is one of the programs funded by the golf tournament.

The South Paulding Men's Basketball program is having a record breaking year. Already breaking the school record in most wins in the regular season with 22 playing in one of the toughest regions in the sate, with at times 4 teams ranked in the top 10. The team is ranked 5th in the state in 5A but overall in the top 25 in the whole state of Georgia.

The Paulding Retired Educators Association met on January 12th at the First Baptist Church in Dallas. Roger Leggett brought a wagon that he designed for children's hospitals. The wagons are equipped with an IV pump and children can move about the hospitals more easily.
Silver Comet Terminal Partners LLC notified the airport authority that it would not make the next scheduled bond payment. The potential net result will cost Paulding taxpayers millions over the next several years.
