Detective Starry Kilgore retired from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Detective Kilgore began her career at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on February 20, 1995. During her, over a 26-year career, she served under two different sheriffs.
The nursing program at Chattahoochee Technical College has been ranked as Georgia’s top associate degree program for nursing. NursingProcess.org established the 2021 top state ranking for Chattahoochee Tech after thoroughly evaluating 32 programs across Georgia.
Master Gardener Extension Volunteers welcomed 11 new members into their ranks. This training class took part in 50 hours of online course work including basic Horticulture, Edible Gardening, Ornamentals, and Volunteerism.

Detention Officer Etta Arnold retired from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Detention Officer Arnold began her career at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on October 19, 1996, in the Jail. During her nearly 25 year career, she served under two different sheriffs.
Carroll Electric Membership Cooperative’s Communications and Corporate Events Coordinator, Kelly Hester, was named this year’s recipient of the Michael Graznak Award from the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA). The prestigious award is given annually to a young professional who demonstrates both expertise and promise in cooperative communications.
On June 10th, 2021, with many elected officials, members of the criminal justice system, and citizens in attendance, Superior Court Judge T. David Lyles graduated two participants from his 18 months Paulding County Mental Health Court Program. These individuals completed dozens of evidence-based classes and individual treatment sessions.
The Paulding County 4-H Poultry Judging team recently competed at one of the Northwest District Poultry Judging Competitions in Gordon County, Calhoun, Georgia. The team consisted of Junior and Senior 4-H’ers who spent 11 weeks preparing for the competition. Participants judge both live specimens and market poultry, identify parts of birds already prepared for market, and evaluate eggs for their quality and readiness for market.
