On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at approximately 6:26 PM a 911 call was placed to Paulding E-911 regarding a domestic dispute at 10116 Buchanan Highway Temple, GA 30179. The complainant advised that she and her husband had gotten into a verbal/physical argument that had gotten extremely heated. The argument continued as she and her three children retreated from the home. As the female was leaving the home, the male fired multiple shots at her and the children as they ran up the driveway toward Buchanan Highway.

Hiram Hornets honored Jonathan Greenard by retiring his #7 Jersey for the purple and gold prior to their spring game against Douglas County. In honor of the high-quality care given to thousands of people with COVID-19 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital, the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus recognized one of the hospital’s leaders. Georgia Rep. Kimberly Alexander of District 66 presented the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award to Vicky Hogue, vice president of Patient Services & chief nursing officer.

Back in 2014 one of the Methodist Youth Ministry’s River of Life program projects was to build wheelchair ramps. As of this week, Freedom Ramp Ministries’ 100th wheelchair ramp was built and installed at no cost to the homeowner.

May 20, 2021, two Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Jailers were arrested on sexual assault charges. The charges stemmed from incidents that involved inappropriate sexual contact between the jailers and multiple female inmates at the Paulding County Jail.

The Paulding Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Committee and Croft & Associates and Ansley Atlanta sponsored a Tiny House Challenge for 4th graders throughout the Paulding County School District. Every student who participated was allowed to win a $25 gift card for Best Design and People’s Choice award as the local winners from their school.
