Paulding County Rotary Club president, Ford Thigpen welcomed guests from East Paulding High School. In addition to our club members, we were joined by East Paulding's Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Brad Thomason, Head Coach Billy Shackelford, and Community Coach Bill Driskell. Coach Driskell explained the mentoring program for East Paulding.

The Paulding Board of Realtors presented a check of $1,000 to the Paulding Boys & Girls Club at their member luncheon held last week, on August 22, 2018. The funds were raised through PBR's annual golf tournament, which was held in April as a fundraiser.
The Paulding County Patriots remained winless after 2 games in the 2018 season as they dropped their home opener to Kennesaw Mountain by a score of 48-14. The Patriots struggled to get anything consistently going on offense and could not stop the Mustangs running game and air assault.
Martin Momtahan of West Metro Driving School presented Shepherd’s Rest Ministries a check for $1250 in support of their continued work as Paulding County’s family violence crisis center. Located in Paulding County, Shepherd’s Rest is a critical resource to protect women and children in the community, providing housing, food, therapy, counseling and legal advocacy.
Mikey Curtis of the Paulding County Shrine Club visited the Paulding Rotary club. Mr. Curtis explain some of the histories of the Shrine Club for the Rotarians and updated them with information on their upcoming charity golf tournament.
Over the summer break, six former and current North Paulding students participated in the annual, "Georgia Trout Camp" event. Andrew Thompson and Aidan McGowen attended as campers. All former Trout Camp Graduates served as young mentors and were assigned various tasks to help the campers learn the art of fly fishing and cold-water conservation.
There are only a few days left in August for local teacher, Jodie Henson at Abney Elementary School, to reach her goal of raising $15,000 to implement a groundbreaking way of teaching in the Paulding County School District! But she and her students still need your help!
