American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 111, in Dallas, recently presented Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge with a $3,000.00 check to support “Cops for Kids.” This is a shopping event that “takes underprivileged children who live in Paulding County and pairs them with a Deputy to go shopping at Christmas.”
The Paulding County Rotary welcomed Robby Bruce and Bobby Cox from the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Dept. Robby Bruce has coordinated with many club members about organizing events in and around Dallas, including the Annual Invitational Christmas Parade. Mr. Bruce thank the club for the opportunity to speak about the new and exciting things taking place in the City of Dallas.
The South Cobb Rotary named Rhonda Reece as its Citizen of the Year at their monthly luncheon on Thursday, October 24, 2019. Rhonda serves as a Vice President at Westside Bank, working out of its Mableton Branch. The Paulding Chamber of Commerce was pleased to hold a ribbon-cutting for Suzanne Whitworth at her State Farm Insurance Agency on Friday, September 27, 2019. Suzanne Whitworth State Farm opened on March 1, 2019. She began her career working for a State Farm Agent 19 years ago.
The Paulding County 4-H Forestry Judging team recently competed at the Northwest District Forestry Judging Competition in Conyers, Georgia. The team consisted of Junior and Senior 4-H’ers who spent 8 weeks preparing for the competition by learning to identify seventy-five Georgia trees, forty diseases, and insects of forest trees and learning how to conduct wood volume estimation and orienteering in forest stands.

The Paulding Rotary Club welcomed Caroline Gransbo, an international student from Sweden who is currently attending West Georgia University. Caroline is in the Georgia Rotary student program (GRSP).

The Paulding County Rotary Club welcomed Deidre Holden Supervisor of Elections & Voter Registration for Paulding County. Mrs. Holden gave a thorough explanation of the current advancements taking place to accommodate voters here in Paulding County. Mrs. Holden outlined proposed precinct changes for 2019 to accommodate the substantial growth of the county's voting population. Complaints of long lines and waiting periods in our voting process have resulted in the proposed expansion from our 12 current polling locations to a newly recommended 17 locations.
The 8th Annual Pigskin Preview took place at the Dallas Civic Center in Downtown Dallas, organized by the Paulding County Rotary Club. This year guests were greeted by Paulding County High School drum majors and varsity football cheerleaders, along with their principal, Craig Wilcox. Guests also enjoyed a Hamburger and Hot dog lunch grilled and prepared by the Paulding Rotary Club members. A new record number of community and county representatives gathered to take part in this year’s event.
Paulding County 4-H students competed at the State 4-H Congress in Atlanta from July 23-26. The State 4-H Congress is the statewide public speaking and interview competition for 4-H’ers across Georgia.
The Paulding Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for Easy Walk Foot Clinic on August 12th. The clinic is located at 5604 Wendy Bagwell Pkwy., #311 in Hiram. Dr. Azuka Nwaedozie (“Dr. N”) has dedicated most of her life to giving back to others and serving her community in the medical field. Dr. N graduated from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City.
