Paulding County Cloverleaf 4-H’ers competed at District Project Achievement (DPA) at Georgia Highlands College in Rome. This year there were 12 counties represented with 560 competitors with 23 being from our county!
Paulding County 4-H is proud to share that we have a history of contest interest. We participate in the Make Your Own Piggy Bank Contest with Georgia 4-H and Georgia Saves! Also, 2018 4-H Beekeeping Essay Contest, which is contest is a national competition offered by the Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees, Inc.
The American Library Association hosts a bi-annual event in Washington, DC, National Library Legislative Day (NLLD). This is a two-day educational event. May 7th and 8th, 2018 that brings hundreds of librarians, trustees, library supporters and patrons to Washington, D.C. This year, West Georgia Regional Director, Jessica Everingham has invited Paulding County Library Services Coordinator, Cherry Waddell to attend the event along with other Georgia Library Representatives.
A Paulding Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting was held on February 22nd for Bodyplex of Hiram. At Bodyplex it is all about getting results and helping members achieve their health and fitness goals.
Valentine's Day the residents of Well-star Paulding Nursing Home were treated to a Valentine Party sponsored by the Paulding Retired Educators Association. The Valentine Party has been an outreach of the Paulding Retired Educators for many years and it has always been a huge success.
Paulding County UGA Extension Master Gardener Volunteers recently recognized Bob Banks and Carolyn Burce as Paulding County Master Gardeners of the Year as well as the New Georgia Library as the Friend of Master Gardeners.

Six Paulding County 4-H’ers joined over 400 4-H youth and leaders for 4-H Day at the Capitol. While in Atlanta, they met with their state Senators and Representatives and saw the House of Representatives during that day’s session. The eventful day included visits with Representative Howard Maxwell (Dist. 17), Senator Bill Heath (Dist. 31), Representative Paulette Rakestraw (Dist. 19).

Congressman Tom Graves visited the Paulding County Boys & Girls Club last week. Graves spoke to the kids and answered questions about his role in government, how to give a good speech, and the state’s role in helping the community.
With a population in excess of 150,000, Paulding County is able to sustain two (2) Rotary Clubs: Dallas Rotary Club AND Rotary Club of Paulding County.
The Dallas Rotary Club is the newer of the clubs. It was established in 2003 and has 17 active members. This club currently has its regular meetings on Thursday mornings at Audrey’s Cafe. Please check Facebook for schedule.
The Paulding County Rotary Club, the first Rotary Club in Paulding County, was chartered in 1969. It has approximately 28 active members and meets regularly.
Although the clubs are different from one another, the common mission is the same – SERVICE TO COMMUNITY. We invite you to visit each club to determine which is the best fit for you. Paulding County Lions Club was founded in 1949. In 1965, the West Cobb Lions Club was established. The two clubs merged in December 2015 to form a larger club that continues to serve both areas.
