Hiram High School CTI (Career & Technical Instruction) members participated in the 2017 Hiram Difference project for the Kindergarten students from Baggett Elementary School in December 2017.

East Paulding High School’s Principal Mr. Jason Freeman and Athletic Director Mr. Brad Thomason welcomed everyone to the first Raider basketball game of the season and the first game in East Paulding High School’s new gym. That night was designated as EPHS Public Safety Night where the Raider Family thanked the Fire Department and all other first responders for their help during the process of rebuilding their gym.

Georgia Highlands College brought home the highest honor for colleges in the University System of Georgia at the 2017 Chancellor’s Annual Service Excellence Awards ceremony. GHC and President Don Green were presented with the Gold Award for Outstanding Institution of the Year and President.

Chattahoochee Technical College was designated on Dec. 15 as one of the nation’s top Military Friendly® Schools by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine. The Military Friendly Schools designation is based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide.

The fifth graders at Abney recently graduated from the D.A.R.E. program sponsored by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.

NPHS, EPHS, and PCHS released trout fingerlings they had raised from eggs. It was the culminating activity to a program called "Trout In the Classroom" (TIC) which is sponsored by the Cohutta Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Georgia Highlands College (GHC) and Kennesaw State University (KSU) Paulding’s super successful 2+2 Academic Program partnership is overmatched by the overwhelming community support that the GHC B2B Organization and the GHC-KSU Circle K Organization has provided the Paulding and Polk Counties in the past 6 months.

Chattahoochee Technical College honored 546 students from the state’s largest technical college during a commencement ceremony held Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville. Representing students from the fall semester, 197 graduates from the college’s six-county service area walked across the stage to receive a technical certificate of credit, diploma or an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Earlier this year, students of Mr. Rodney Tumlin's AP Environmental Science classes paddled a 4-hour section of the Etowah River from Cartersville to Euharlee. Students were able to see wildlife, farms, riparian areas and plant Bowen, the single largest coal-fired power plant in the south-east.
