The Paulding County Fire Department is gearing up for its 4th annual Junior Firefighter Summer Camp, set to take place July 14–18, 2025. Open to middle school students, the program offers a hands-on introduction to the exciting and challenging world of firefighting—completely free of charge.

Congratulations to the Paulding 4-H Shotgun Team for competing in the 2025 GA Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays Match at the Forest City Gun Club in Savannah on May 24-25, 2025. Georgia 4-H Project SAFE uses shooting sports to teach many valuable life skills.

American Idol winner Ruben Studdard will headline a patriotic "Heroes Among Us" concert May 24th at Legacy Arena to honor military veterans. The Douglas County School System is hosting the event to recognize veterans who serve as educators in the Douglas County, Carrollton City and Paulding County school systems, along with veteran community members from all three areas.

Congratulations to Daniela Quintero, senior graduate of East Paulding High School, as she is the first recipient of the Annual "Samuel Truett Cathy" Senior Scholarship Award. This $500 scholar will be awarded annually to a graduating senior and Chick-fil-A Leader Academy chapter member that has showcased three plus years of active servant leadership capabilities.
