The Paulding Chamber of Commerce continued its tradition of honoring local public safety officials for their outstanding service at our Georgia Power Luncheon. Featured award presentations went to individuals from the Paulding County Sheriff and Fire Departments, Marshall’s Bureau, District Attorney’s Office, E911 Center, the City of Dallas Police Department, the City of Hiram Police Department and Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service.
September 6, 2017, the Mayor of Hiram, Teresa Philyaw, presented a proclamation declaring the week of September 4 through 8, International Literacy Week to the students in the Paulding Adult Education Program. September 8, 2017, is International Literacy Day worldwide.
Joyce Walraven generously donated one of her most valued paintings to the Maude P. Ragsdale Public Library in Hiram. Joyce is well known for her paintings of places of interest and historical significance in Paulding County.
Marine Corps Private First Class Tanner Hambrick has graduated from basic military training at Parris Island, South Carolina. He is the son of Tracie and Chad Everett of Dallas, Ga.
Dugan Elementary are beginning their 2nd Annual Community Service Outreach project again. They are partnered with Children's Hospital of Atlanta and Usborne Books to help bring Cuddle Bear Book sets to 300 rooms.
Lesley Newland is Vice President of Operations/Co-Owner of Lighthouse Investment Advisors, Inc. She owns her business with her husband Wayne. Lesley became a licensed insurance agent in 2012 after a 16-year teaching career. Her role has now changed from educating students in the classroom to educating clients on their insurance and retirement needs.

Patrons gathered to the Hiram Public Library on August 21st to join the nation in viewing the spectacular, historic solar eclipse. Many members of the community were given the chance to safely view the eclipse with the help of the Paulding public libraries.
Elemental Games, a tabletop gaming store in Dallas, Ga, has been a satallite store for a nationwide tournament called the Unrivaled Tournament Series. The players who are going to Las Vegas will be Ami Dark, Daniel Godinez, Angel Davis, Brandon Brantley and Christian Greene, each one a constant customer of Elemental Games.

The Paulding County Rotary Club, the first Rotary Club in Paulding County, was chartered in 1969. It has approximately 42 active members and meets regularly.
